Repeaters
While excavating at the base of steep pit walls it is easy to lose line of site between machinery and the base station. The use of solar powered repeaters around the site consolidates the wireless network to create a reliable unbroken signal.
Overview
Repeaters not only provide strategic stationary nodes guaranteeing line of site to machinery working close to pit walls, but boost the signal which is weakened over large distances. In addition, repeaters relay the GPS correction signal via UHF.
The repeaters are manufactured by APS in Brisbane and are linked to the network via MineLAN APS's stand alone wireless network box.
